Computer Port
A port serves as an interface between the computer and other computers or peripheral devices. The port varies depending on the kind of equipment that will be connected to the ports such as connect a monitor,
webcam, speakers the ports sizes are different,

Types of Ports
Serial port:
This port uses with a 9-pin connector. It is no longer in use because this replaces by an interface such as
Ethernet, FireWire, and USB.

PS/2 Port:
This port was earlier used to connect keyboards and mouse. These were round ports for 6-pin connectors. They have now been replaced with Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports.
Parallel port:
A common parallel port for 25 pins connector. This post is similar to serial ports and was uses to connect printer and joystick. They are no longer in use and have also been replacing by USB ports.
Video Graphics Array(VGA) port:
A VGA port to connect video display devices such as monitors and projectors to a computer. it has three rows for 15 pin connector.

USB port:
the USB port is nowadays the most popular types of the port on a computer which connect a mouse, keyboard, printer and external storage devices such as DVD-RW drive and a flash drive to a computer
TRS: Tip, ring, and sleeve (TRS) ports on mini-Jacks or audio Jacks, commonly to connect audio devices such as headphones and microphones to computers.
This is used for network connections. They use fast and transmission and category 5 (CAT5) network cable for network connections.
